PLACES IN

THE JOURNAL

Ever wondered what kind of stuff they are serving at Cafe du Acta or maybe what kind of things Harry got in his room? Often it's the surroundings and places in stories which tell more about the characters than you would first expect, so here you'll get the exclusive chance to check out some of the places which are mentioned in The Journal. Besides this you can read along and get to hear Aria S. Haynes explain the meaning behind 'Cafe du Acta' and why she started the cafe in the first place among other cool details!

CAFE DU ACTA

THAT ONE TIME I LOST

MY JOURNAL (thank God)

>> I had just moved to Chicago at that time, I think I saw the place a month after Daisy was born actually. I still had money left to get a buisness started, so I thought to hell with all the fancy shit and decided this little place was going to be my place. A safe haven not only for me but for others too. I think that's what makes a really good café; if your sprit is in it. If it's a place you would go to find peace or be social with friends, or just go to because the coffee is especially great, it's a keeper.

I came up with the name because I wanted to be better to 'document' my life; like be better at remembering the good times and memories. Seeing how quickly Daisy grew up - and still does; it really gives you a new perspective on time and life. So I think it was actually my nephew, Harry, who told me something about the latin word for 'journal' or 'record' apparently was acta. 'Du' is supposedly a French contraction for 'of and the' - another of Harry's suggestions. Basically it means 'Café of The Journal'. I think it sounds okay - it's easy to remember like this at least.

So yeah basically this café has been some sort of personal journal for me. The people, the pictures, the slow development of the place and settling in. I know Daisy loves it there - and I hope she'll grow up in an eviroment like we have at Cafe du Acta; comfortable, varm and loved by many hearts.

I've added some of the pictures which have been taken from our cafe for you to check out x

>> My aunt, Aria Haynes, is the owner of the cafe and since I kind of felt I owed my roomie, Jenny, a favor for agreeing to have me rent a room at hers. Well she needed a job and I knew Aria who's glad to hire new staff for the café every now and then, naturally I talked with her. I know Jenny is terribly clumsy (don't tell her I said that), anyway I explained the situation to Aria, who's practically eternally grateful for what Jenny helped me with.

So honestly I don't usually come and spend time at Cafe du Acta, because I don't have the money or time to be there as often as I might have wanted to - and I don't won't to sponge Aria or anything. Anyway of course I wanted to come for Jenny's first day and see how she was doing; let's just say she didn't exactly do ... great.

I think she dropped a tray of lattes onto one table and by the time the other staff guy was tomato red in the face because she had messed up another order I was practically just sitting

there not able to concentrate one bit on writing as she almost tripped over a chair. I guess it had been a bad idea celebrating her finally getting a job the night before, but you know - Louis and Jenny are the worst when it comes to ideas for celebrations and that sort. Somehow it always end up amusing as hell, but quite messy.

Anyhow when Jenny was finally done with her hours - she just gave me this sight of expression that told me to stay quiet or be killed. We kind of hurried out of the place, since she was a little stressed over that tall guy she had worked with, Eric I think? Anyway apparently he hadn't really fancied her work - and yeah, she practically dragged me out of there before I could get to finish my chocolate - or check if my fucking journal was still in my pocket of course. Maybe I should thank her after all? -H.

YUKKIE'S SHAWARMA HOUSE

>> "The place is absolutely brilliant!" Louis Tomlison tells with a wide beam, "Yukkie is the man obviously. It's a great place to go get a late night snack when it's just us guys. You know he actually got a Little Nothings poster hanging somewhere for display in his shop; he even wanted us to sign it this one Saturday night when we came by at 3 am after a night in the city celebrating an awesome gig or whatever.

I'm not sure how Zayn knew of the place, but it sure as hell is a city gem he found! Supposedly Yukkie once tried convincing Harry and Zayn of becoming his sons or something crazy - he's probably our biggest fan too. It's kind of cute

and hilarious; but the food and company is the best. I swear if someone one day convinces me of marriage. Well there's no doubt Yukkie House is going to be the first food delivery place I call to order from! Fucking A-class shawarmas and fresh pressed orange juice for everybody! No doubt! Oh my he would probably have a heart attack if I actually asked him of that; I have to remember to mention the idea for him next time I'm there. Not that I'm expecting to be married soon... but you know... *cough*

Anyway. It's the fucking best kebab in fucking America if not the world. I will set my personal red haired devil loose on anybody who dares to disagree. (I swear Jenny is terrifying when she's angry; so don't put yourself in that situation). #yukkiechilimix"
